Free pickup or paid?

  • A free pickup usually means the metal pays for the trip. Yards send a truck when the load is worth it: a car, several appliances, a renovation's worth of steel. Expect little or no cash on top.
  • To be paid the full rate, drop it off. The same load delivered to the scale is paid at the yard's posted price. See today's prices.
  • Bins for big jobs. Yards that offer bins usually credit the scrap value against the bin fee. Ask how that works before you book.
  • Fridges, freezers and air conditioners need the refrigerant removed by a certified technician first.
