Privacy policy

Ontario Scrap Metal Prices (ontarioscrapmetalprices.com) is an independent guide to Ontario scrap yards and prices. This policy explains what information is collected when you use the site and how it's used. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect

• No accounts or forms. You can use the whole site without giving us your name, email or any other personal information.
• Email you send us. If you email info@ontarioscrapmetalprices.com, we keep your message and address only to reply and to act on your request. We don't sell or share it.
• Your location, only if you ask. The "Use my location" button asks your browser for your location to find the nearest city. That calculation happens on your device; your location isn't sent to or stored by us.
• Technical data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Third-party services

• Google Fonts supplies the site's typeface, so your browser connects to Google's servers when a page loads.
• Google Maps embeds show each yard's location. Google may set cookies and collect data when a map loads, under Google's privacy policy.

Advertising and cookies

We may show ads from third-party vendors, including Google, to keep the site free.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, youradchoices.ca or aboutads.info.
• Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them.

The site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
