Plate and structural steel at least 1/4 inch thick, cut to size. Plate, beams, pipe and machinery steel at least 1/4 inch thick and cut to fit the yard's size limit, usually 3 ft or 5 ft.
How the price is set
Steel scrap in Ontario follows the North American scrap market, which we track with the US Bureau of Labor Statistics iron and steel scrap index (2026-09). Yards quote per metric tonne, per net ton (2,000 lb) or per 100 lb, so check which one you're being offered.
